StarKids Once Upon A Time – In aid of the Irish Heart Foundation

Join the cast of StarKids as they host their end of year showcase. Sit back and be entertained by an all children’s cast as they take you through their show stopping musical “Once Upon  A Time”. Enjoy their adaptation of some of your favourite Fairy Tales; Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack & Jill and Cinderella.

Come see Kidkast’s Showcase 2013!

A fun night to be had for all ages, featuring the talented students from our three Dublin Schools Swords, Castleknock & Hartstown.  Drama pieces from Nanny McPhee to The Crucible and dance numbers in cool hip hop and beautiful lyrical.  Kidkast is one of Dublin’s oldest stage schools and we are delighted to be back in The Helix for our annual show.

Prosperous Academy of Dance and Brocklebank Academy of Dance are delighted to present their joint production ‘Once Upon a Dance…’ this June. Students (aged 3 years to adults) from both schools will present a showcase of different styles of dance including ballet, jazz, contemporary and hip hop.

The Jill O’Neill School Of Dance began in 2007 and celebrate their annual showcase at The Helix this May, giving the students a proper platform to show off all their hard work and dancing skills. Students range from age 3-21. The performance will include Ballet Jazz Hip-Hop and Contemporary Dance.

The Temptations Magnificent career is nothing short of astonishing. Growing up on the tough streets of Detroit Michigan, they went on to become one the biggest vocal groups of all time. With their career spanning five decades, millions of records sold and an induction into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, these really are legends of the modern music era.

The legendary Irish singer/songwriter Andy Irvine returns this Saturday the 27^th of April with his impressive repertoire of Irish traditional songs and dexterous Balkan dance tunes.

We’re looking forward to a new one-man play “Oliver Reed Wild Thing” by Mike Davis and Rob Crouch on Friday the 17th of May. Join legendary hellraiser Oliver Reed as he knocks back a few drinks and shares his incredible life story!

And don’t miss BEATLEMANIA! on May 25th. We’ll be dancing in the aisles at the cast recreate the legendary live performances of The Beatles from their ‘moptop’ roots, through the psychedelia of Sgt. Pepper then on to the final years of Abbey Road and Let It Be.

 PANTO CAMP- age 6 to 12

TheatreworX returns to The Helix with 2 fun Panto Camps for students aged 5 to 12. This exciting camp will not only be a fun week full of dance, singing and acting with a mini-panto at the end of the week on the Helix Stage, but it will give each student a chance to work with the production team of the forthcoming pantomime,“The Sleeping Beauty”. And if that’s not enough, some lucky students will even be cast in “The Sleeping Beauty” which runs during Christmas 2013 in The Helix Theatre.

TEEN CAMP – age 13 to 18

Our Teen Camp is a dance intensive course where budding professional dancers are put through their paces in various different dance styles. The students work with several different choreographers during the week and are given a taste of the hard work that is required to make it in the professional world. The students will display their work on The Helix Theatre stage at the end of the week. Some students are chosen to be part of our Junior Chorus in our forthcoming pantomime “The Sleeping Beauty”.
