Protocol

Food and drink

For consideration and respect of the audience and performers we would ask that sweets purchased in our shop be consumed in a quiet and discreet manner. There may be some restrictions with allowing food into a venue for certain performances.

Cloakroom

The cloakroom is located on the ground floor. Please contact Box Office 01 700 7000 in advance of your visit to see if it will be open on the night of your performance.

Front of House and Volunteer Team

Since opening in October 2002, The Helix has become one of the fastest growing venues for arts and entertainment in Ireland.

We take pride in being an integral part of the DCU community and also the wider local community. We have more recently held family days which have been a resounding success for the communities both locally and further a field. And we look forward to many more to come.

The quality of the welcome and service on offer at The Helix has been part of this achievement.

Geraldine Brooks, Front of House Manager, leads our customer care and front of house staff. We have two duty managers and five chief stewards. An integral part of our team is our dedicated group of volunteer stewards. To begin with they were mainly from the locality but in more recent times we have had huge interest from the wider community. We recruit a small number of new volunteers each September. If you are interested in joining our volunteer team please contact the Front of House Manager Geraldine Brooks on 01 700 7117.

Our volunteers, under the direction of our Front of House Department look after our patrons when here for performances and events. They take tickets, direct patrons to their seats and generally assist with any patrons requirements. Most of all, however, they are ambassadors for The Helix and tireless supporters of our efforts to bring the best in live performance to Dublin. They come from all occupations and age but they all share the passion for the work of The Helix and a desire to make every visit a memorable one.

We would like to thank all our volunteers for making us Dublin’s most ambitious and family friendly performance venue.
