The Symphony Orchestra and Senior Singers from the NSW Public Schools are coming to Dublin! This concert at the Helix will be the big final concert of their 2 week concert tour through the UK and Ireland. They will perform works from Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Whitacre, Whitwell and Riebl.
The Australian orchestra and choir are two of the best ensembles administered by The Arts Unit of the New South Wales Department of Education. The orchestra is currently comprised of 69 musicians and the choir of 42 singers. Students are generally of high school age (with an average age of 16) and represent a range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
The Australians will share the concert with the NYOI: the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland. The concert will conclude with big mass pieces in which all the ensembles will participate.
