Number of hours per week: Part Time (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday)

Reporting to: Conference & Events Manager

Contract: Initial Twelve-Month Period

Salary: Commensurate with experience

 

Job Description

As Conference & Events Sales Executive for the Helix you will be responsible for assisting with the generation of conferencing & Events revenue for the venue This will be achieved through strong business development through maximising sales and achieving targets in the area of room rentals, Conferences & Events and managing a substantial portfolio of key accounts.

The ideal candidate must have a professional and friendly approach and must be focused on providing excellent customer service to all existing and new clients. They must be highly motivated and can work on their own initiative.  A minimum of 2/3 years in conference and events in a venue, 4/5-star Hotel or an event management role is essential.

 

Key Responsibilities of this role will include:

· To deal with all aspects of conferences and events within the venue: from initial enquiries, quotations, site inspections, contracts, invoicing to feedback, post event.

· To coordinate all aspects of the conference and event requirements of the client.

· To work with all the team including the operations team in order to maximize revenue.

· To have the ability to up-sell and cross-sell all venue facilities. 

· To issue weekly function/handover sheets to all the management team for all up and coming conference and events.

 

Key Requirements: 

· Excellent knowledge of the conference and event industry.

· Previous conference and event sales experience essential.

· Proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets.

· Excellent communication and listening skills.

· Ability to work under pressure in a busy operation.

· A clear understanding of the hospitality industry, specifically the conference and events market.

· Knowledge of agents, PCO’s, Convention Bureaus & third-party booking platforms essential.

· Excellent attention to detail required as well as good administration and organisation skills.

· Knowledge of food & beverage and technical departments within a venue or hotel essential.

· A minimum of 2/3 years in conference and events in a venue, 4 /5 star Hotel or an event management role essential

· Fluent English
